If you’re ever in France on ‘La fête nationale’ or ‘ Le quatorze juillet’ otherwise known to us English speakers as Bastille day, you’ll have noticed that it is a public holiday. It celebrates the storming of the Bastille during the revolution that helped to end feudalism in France and invoked the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen. The day is usually spent with family and friends, on the beach or visiting picturesque towns followed by dinner and the watching of firework displays. So, what to wear on this patriotic day?
